216 Commercial Building Lighting Systems Course

Facilities maintenance technicians and building managers are expected to maintain the lighting systems in their buildings. This course guides students through a better understanding of how light works and the importance of proper environmental lighting for both safety and comfort of the building occupants. Introduction to commercial lighting equipment and how to distinguish between a maintenance task and when to call a licensed electrician is covered. Students will better understand various lighting control strategies and opportunities to recommend more efficient lighting technologies.
There is no textbook required. This course is recognized for 12 hours of continuing education (CEHs) applicable to NATE re-certification.

If you are only taking a few courses with us there is not a requirement for a textbook. We will always recommend to our students to have a good general textbook for reference, the mark of a professional!
Each course purchase allows 60 days enrollment to complete. Must obtain a 70% or higher to obtain CEU recognition. Course provides you with a Subject Matter Expert (mentor) to assist with questions and all course materials for the duration of the course.
