Build Your HVAC Career with the NATE® Certified HVAC Technician Program

Are you ready to elevate your HVAC/R skills to the next level? At HVACwithJB, in collaboration with HVACRedu, we offer the NATE®-Certified HVAC Technician Program (NCT), a comprehensive online education pathway designed to equip you with the essential skills and certifications needed to excel in the HVAC industry.

Whether you’re a new installer or a seasoned technician, our program provides a well-rounded curriculum that prepares you for NATE® Certification, a prestigious credential recognized across the industry.

NATE® Certification: What it Means for Your HVAC/R Career

NATE®, or North American Technician Excellence®, is a non-profit organization that certifies HVAC/R technicians through a series of rigorous knowledge and experience-based tests, followed by ongoing training and recertification every two years.

Its goal is for homeowners to feel confident they’re inviting a skilled, informed technician into their home whenever they need one.

At HVACwithJB, the NATE®-Certified HVAC Technician Program (powered by HVACRedu.net) is specifically designed to meet these high standards.

We provide you with the training and resources necessary to become a NATE®-certified technician, ensuring you stand out in the competitive HVAC/R field.

What is NATE® Certification?

NATE® is a coalition that includes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and ASHRAE® (the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers).

This organization certifies heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration technicians through a series of comprehensive exams. These exams are developed by a nationwide committee of HVAC/R experts who identify Knowledge Areas of Technician Expertise (KATEs) based on their extensive real-world job experience.

Our NATE®-Certified HVAC Technician Program, offered by HVACwithJB and powered by HVACRedu, aligns with these standards to ensure our students are well-prepared for the NATE® certification exams.

How Do Technicians Become NATE® Certified?

To become NATE®-certified, technicians must pass a series of exams with a score of 70% or higher. Before being eligible for NATE® certification, technicians must pass the Ready-To-Work and HVAC Support Technician exams, designed for those just entering the field. After passing these exams and completing at least two years of work in the HVAC field, technicians can pursue NATE® certification through one of two paths:

Certified HVAC Professional (CHP-5®) Pathway: Technicians earn their certificate by passing five exams: HVAC fundamentals, electrical and controls, comfort and airflows, installation, and service.

Traditional NATE® Certification Pathway: Technicians take the NATE® core exam and at least one specialty exam in an area of their choosing to become certified.

Our NATE®-Certified HVAC Technician Program at HVACwithJB, powered by HVACRedu, guides you through these steps, providing the necessary education and training to achieve certification.

How Long Does a NATE® Certification Last?

NATE® certifications last two years, except for the ground source pump heat installer certification, which lasts three years. To recertify, technicians must complete 16 continuing education hours on the NATE® website within two years and pay a renewal fee or retake the specialty exam before the certification expiration date.

Reasons to Work with a NATE® Certified Technician

Knowledgeable and Trustworthy Technicians: NATE®-certified technicians possess real-world and educational experience, ensuring reliable troubleshooting and maintenance of your HVAC system. Recertification every two years keeps them up-to-date with industry developments and practices.

Less Time and Money Spent on HVAC Maintenance: Experienced NATE®-certified technicians ensure proper installation, service, and maintenance – promoting efficient operation and reducing the likelihood of costly repairs.

By enrolling in the NATE®-Certified HVAC Technician Program offered by HVACwithJB, (powered by HVACRedu), you gain these advantages, positioning yourself as a top-tier technician in the HVAC industry.
